This First Day Cover features the 1973 Canada 8¢ stamp honoring Jeanne Mance (1606-1673), issued by Canada Post on April 18, 1973. The cover bears a clear Ancaster, Ontario postmark across a block of four stamps, with a matching cachet portrait on the left.

Jeanne Mance was a pioneering French nurse and settler who founded Montreal's first hospital, the Hôtel-Dieu, in 1645. Her work established critical medical care in New France during the colony's earliest and most challenging years.

The stamps were printed by Ashton-Potter Limited of Toronto, with design credited to Raymond Bellemare. The block-of-four format and bilingual "Day of Issue / Jour d'émission" text add visual interest for collectors.

A fine addition for Canadian postal history or medical/nursing topical collections, this FDC displays fresh color and a crisp, fully legible cancel.
