This Art Craft official first day cover features the 1973 Boston Tea Party commemorative issue. The 8¢ stamp, issued in a se-tenant block design, is postmarked Boston, MA on the first day of issue, December 4, 1973.

The Boston Tea Party of December 16, 1773 was a landmark protest against British "taxation without representation," when colonists disguised as Native Americans dumped 342 chests of tea into Boston Harbor. The event escalated tensions that led directly to the American Revolution and the fight for independence.

The cachet artwork dramatically illustrates the raiders heaving tea crates from the ship, while the stamp design captures the nighttime harbor scene with glowing lanterns and defiant figures. The cover also bears the recipient address of a San Francisco collector.

A strong addition for Revolutionary War or American history topical collections, this well-preserved FDC displays sharp postmarks and vibrant cachet artwork.
