This 1965 Artmaster cachet First Day Cover features the 5¢ U.S. stamp honoring Sir Winston Churchill, postmarked on the first day of issue in Fulton, Missouri, May 13, 1965.

Churchill, the iconic British Prime Minister who led the United Kingdom through World War II, was granted honorary U.S. citizenship by Congress in 1963—the first person so honored. The stamp and cachet commemorate both his statesmanship and this unique transatlantic bond.

The Artmaster design prominently displays Churchill’s portrait alongside Big Ben and a laurel wreath, with the inscription “An Honorary American Citizen.” Fulton, MO, was deliberately chosen for the first-day postmark because it was the site of Churchill’s famous 1946 “Iron Curtain” speech at Westminster College.

Addressed to Murray Lucht in Wood-Ridge, New Jersey, a small borough in Bergen County with deep mid-century philatelic ties.

A clean, well-centered example ideal for collectors of WWII leaders, honorary citizenship topics, or Artmaster cachets.
