This Artmaster cachet First Day Cover features the 5¢ John Fitzgerald Kennedy memorial stamp issued May 29, 1964, in Boston, Massachusetts. The cover bears a crisp black postmark from the first-day city and a dignified black-and-white cachet showing a laurel wreath with an eternal flame.

The stamp commemorates the thirty-fifth President of the United States, who was born May 29, 1917, and assassinated November 22, 1963. Its issuance on the first anniversary of his birth was part of a national outpouring of remembrance following the tragedy in Dallas.

A notable detail is the cachet’s subtle depiction of the eternal flame, echoing the flame that burns at Arlington National Cemetery, together with the Latin phrase “In Memoriam” and Kennedy’s full name and dates. The Artmaster imprint appears at lower right.

The cover is addressed to Murray Ludmer in Wood-Ridge, New Jersey, a quiet Bergen County borough that was home to many mid-century stamp collectors.

A clean, well-centered example ideal for presidential or Kennedy topical collections.
