This Art Craft First Day Cover features the 1964 5¢ John Fitzgerald Kennedy memorial stamp, postmarked in Boston, Massachusetts on May 29, 1964—the official first day of issue.

Issued less than six months after President Kennedy’s assassination in Dallas, the stamp served as a national tribute. Its design pairs Kennedy’s portrait with the eternal flame from his gravesite at Arlington National Cemetery, accompanied by the closing lines of his 1961 inaugural address.

The cachet reproduces a formal portrait of the 35th President beside an American flag, with the dates 1917–1963 and the Latin phrase “In Memoriam.” The Art Craft logo appears in the lower left corner.

Addressed to Dr. Robert E. Bakeman in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the cover reflects the widespread public desire to honor Kennedy through philately in the months following his death.

A clean, well-centered example with a clear Boston postmark, this FDC remains a poignant and highly collectible memorial issue for both Kennedy and presidential topical collectors.
