This 1964 5¢ Doctors Mayo First Day Cover features the U.S. stamp honoring the Mayo brothers, postmarked in Rochester, Minnesota on September 11, 1964. The Artmaster cachet depicts portraits of Dr. Charles Horace Mayo and Dr. William James Mayo alongside medical symbols including a caduceus and stethoscope.

The Mayo brothers founded the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, establishing one of the first and most influential group medical practices in the United States. Their innovative approach to integrated patient care transformed modern medicine in the early 20th century.

The cachet artwork includes the inscription “HONORING THE FAMOUS DOCTORS MAYO – FOUNDERS MAYO CLINIC – ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA,” with the Artmaster imprint visible at lower right. The cover is addressed to Murray Ludmer in Wood-Ridge, New Jersey.

A fine addition for collectors of medical history, Minnesota, or Artmaster cachets, this well-preserved FDC displays sharp postmark detail and attractive green monochrome design.
